POLTERGEIST ENCOUNTERS

Cinemavixion Review

John Migliore's "Poltergeist Encounters" plunges viewers into the murky depths of paranormal investigation, blurring the lines between skepticism and genuine terror. The film follows an online group of investigators, whose questionable ethics are matched only by their initial disbelief, as they accept a lucrative offer to spend a night in a purportedly haunted house. What begins as a cynical prank escalates into a harrowing ordeal when the investigators realize they are not alone, and that a malevolent entity has a sinister game in mind. Migliore, who also directs and stars, crafts a narrative that effectively builds suspense, playing on the characters' hubris and eventual descent into fear. While the film has garnered a modest reception, its strength lies in its claustrophobic atmosphere and the unsettling realization that some phenomena defy rational explanation. "Poltergeist Encounters" offers a chilling exploration of the unknown, making it a noteworthy watch for fans of low-budget horror that prioritizes psychological dread over jump scares.
