POINT DEFIANCE

Cinemavixion Review

Justin Foia's 'Point Defiance' plunges viewers into a tense domestic drama, anchored by a compelling narrative of fractured brotherhood and buried secrets. The film masterfully navigates the psychological fallout of military service and the inescapable pull of the past. Derek Phillips and his co-stars deliver performances that are both raw and nuanced, effectively conveying the complex emotional landscape of characters grappling with trauma and betrayal. Foia's direction maintains a steady, unsettling rhythm, building suspense as the protagonists are forced to confront uncomfortable truths. While the external data indicates a runtime of 100 minutes and a 2018 release, the core of the film—its exploration of familial bonds strained to their breaking point—remains a powerful and thought-provoking experience. 'Point Defiance' is a character-driven thriller that rewards patient viewing with its intricate plotting and resonant themes.
