OWNED

Cinemavixion Review

Jose Montesinos's 'Owned' plunges viewers into the gritty underbelly of post-prison life, where a former convict, Cisco, finds himself ensnared by old debts. The narrative, spanning 80 minutes, masterfully navigates the treacherous path between seeking redemption and succumbing to the allure of crime. Montesinos, who also helms the director's chair, delivers a taut crime drama bolstered by performances that convey the weight of Cisco's predicament. While the film may not boast widespread critical acclaim, its focused exploration of consequence and the enduring grip of the past offers a compelling, if somber, cinematic experience. It's a potent reminder that sometimes, the greatest battles are fought not on the streets, but within oneself.
