NIGHT OF THE DEMON

Cinemavixion Review

Embarking on a journey into the primal unknown, "Night of the Demon" (1980) delivers a potent cocktail of '80s horror tropes. Director James C. Wasson plunges viewers into a forest shrouded in mystery, where a group of students, led by Professor Nugent, ventures to uncover the truth behind brutal Sasquatch attacks. What begins as a cryptozoological investigation quickly descends into a nightmarish encounter with Satanic rituals and a creature feature that, as Buried.com aptly notes, combines "softcore sex, hardcore violence, Satanic sex cults and a limb-tearing, gut-slinging, dick-ripping beast." The film is a testament to the era's unapologetic embrace of the extreme, weaving a narrative of interspecies terror and escalating gore. While its critical reception may be modest, its cult status is undeniable, offering a raw and visceral cinematic experience for those brave enough to confront its primal fears.
