NIAGARA: A DOCUSOAP - ANN HARBRON

Cinemavixion Review

Ann Harbron's 'Niagara: A Docusoap' offers a compelling glimpse into the vibrant and often eccentric world surrounding the iconic Niagara Falls. This six-part series delves beyond the natural spectacle to uncover the unique human tapestry woven into its fabric. Harbron masterfully introduces viewers to the outrageous museums, the diverse array of tourists, and the surprisingly robust marriage industry that thrives in the shadow of the falls. The documentary eschews a traditional narrative for a 'docusoap' approach, highlighting the peculiar characters and surprising stories that define this unique locale. It's a fascinating exploration of a place often reduced to a postcard image, revealing the rich, and at times weird, reality beneath the surface.
