MUIRHOUSE: ITS NO PLACE TO BE ALONE

Cinemavixion Review

Phillip Muirhouse's ill-fated overnight stay at the notoriously haunted Monte Cristo Homestead, documented for a book tour, forms the chilling premise of Tanzeal Rahim's "MUIRHOUSE: Its No Place To Be Alone." What begins as a seemingly standard exploration of supernatural phenomena quickly devolves into a terrifying ordeal, captured in real-time through audio and motion-activated cameras. The film plunges viewers into the unsettling atmosphere of Australia's most haunted house, promising a raw and immediate encounter with the unknown. The narrative unfolds with a sense of dread, as the initial promotional tour gives way to a desperate fight for survival. The stark reality of the situation is amplified by the documentary-style approach, making the tragic outcome—the loss of three lives by morning—all the more impactful. This film offers a stark, unflinching look at the potential consequences when venturing into spaces steeped in dark history and spectral lore.
