MOUNT HIDEAWAY MYSTERIES: EXES AND OH NO'S

Cinemavixion Review

Brett Monk's "Mount Hideaway Mysteries: Exes and Oh No's" offers a compelling glimpse into a town brimming with secrets, where a diverse cast of characters—a spy, a thief, a private eye, and a preacher—intersect to unravel local enigmas. This proof-of-concept pilot, later expanded into a feature film series, introduces Bethany Shanholtz, a government operative drawn back to her rural Virginia roots. The narrative skillfully weaves a personal past with unfolding murders, hinting at a deeper conspiracy tied to the town's very fabric. The film's strength lies in its atmospheric setting and the intriguing premise that ordinary towns can harbor extraordinary mysteries. While the IMDb rating suggests a niche appeal, the setup promises a rich tapestry of crime and character that fans of rural noir and intricate plotting will find engaging.
