MOTHER LODE

Cinemavixion Review

Silas McGee's relentless pursuit of his elusive "mother lode" forms the core of this 1980 film. For over three decades, he has scoured the rugged, remote landscapes of British Columbia, driven by an unyielding obsession. The narrative explores the depths of human determination and the enduring power of hope, even in the face of prolonged failure. Charlton Heston, Kim Basinger, and Nick Mancuso anchor the story with their performances, embodying the characters caught in Silas's singular quest. The film offers a compelling character study set against the stark beauty of the Canadian wilderness, questioning the true value of such a long-sought treasure.
