ME, MYSELF AND DI

Cinemavixion Review

Chris Green's "Me, Myself and Di" offers a charmingly British take on the romantic comedy genre, centering on Janet (Katy Clayton), a woman from Bolton yearning for a more exciting life. A serendipitous holiday win transports her to a caravan park in Rhyl, North Wales, providing the perfect backdrop for her ambitious self-reinvention into the more confident 'Di'. The film cleverly contrasts Janet's aspirations for sophistication with the wonderfully eccentric reality of a seaside holiday park, complete with a cast of quirky characters and lively entertainment. Clayton delivers a commendable performance, navigating Janet's awkward transformation with a blend of humour and sincerity. The narrative playfully explores themes of self-discovery, the courage it takes to embrace one's true self, and the unexpected places where love might be found. While the film may not break new ground, its feel-good spirit and relatable portrayal of small-town dreams make it an endearing watch. "Me, Myself and Di" is a delightful reminder that sometimes, the greatest adventures begin right in our own backyard.
