MASSACRE TIME

Cinemavixion Review

Lucio Fulci's 'Massacre Time' plunges viewers into the harsh realities of the Wild West with a gritty narrative set in 1866 New Mexico. The film, starring a compelling Franco Nero as prospector Tom Corbett, masterfully depicts the struggle against the tyrannical Scott family and their iron-fisted control over Laramie Town. Nero's portrayal of Corbett, returning to confront the corruption that has seized his hometown, is a standout, anchoring the film's exploration of justice and redemption. While the external data lists the language as Italian, the local data's emphasis on English westerns suggests this might be a dubbed version or the original Italian with English subtitles. The film's themes of greed, fear, and the fight for freedom resonate deeply, offering a classic spaghetti western experience enriched by Fulci's distinctive directorial style.
