LOSER

Cinemavixion Review

Kirk Harris's 1997 film "Loser" stands as a testament to the power of independent cinema, having garnered significant acclaim at festivals like SlamDance and the Berlin Film Festival. Often compared to Quentin Tarantino's early work, the film masterfully blends dark humor, raw emotion, and a palpable sense of dread, punctuated by moments of striking violence. Its edgy narrative and stylish execution helped redefine the independent film landscape upon its release in 50 US cities, marking a bold statement from emerging talents like Harris himself, alongside Peta Wilson and Jonathon Chaus.
