LAST DAYS IN THE DESERT

Cinemavixion Review

Rodrigo García's "Last Days In The Desert" offers a profound and introspective look at a pivotal moment in religious history. Ewan McGregor delivers a dual performance as both Jesus and the Devil, embodying the internal and external struggles of temptation and faith. The film masterfully portrays Jesus' forty days of fasting, culminating in a deeply human confrontation with the Devil over the fate of a troubled family. McGregor's nuanced portrayal, supported by a compelling cast including Ciarán Hinds and Tye Sheridan, grounds the spiritual narrative in relatable emotional turmoil. With critical acclaim, including a strong showing on Rotten Tomatoes, this film invites viewers to contemplate faith, doubt, and the enduring human condition against a stark, evocative desert backdrop.
