PROSPECT

Cinemavixion Review

Prospect offers a refreshingly grounded take on the sci-fi genre, eschewing grand spectacle for intimate, character-driven drama set against a beautifully realized alien landscape. The narrative centers on a young woman's perilous journey to extract valuable gems, a quest that quickly spirals into a desperate fight for survival. Directors Christopher Caldwell and Zeek Earl craft a palpable sense of atmosphere, where the toxic environment mirrors the escalating greed and moral compromises faced by the characters. Sophie Thatcher delivers a compelling performance as the protagonist, navigating both external dangers and her father's increasingly questionable decisions. Supported by strong turns from Jay Duplass and Pedro Pascal, Prospect is a compelling exploration of desperation, resilience, and the choices we make when pushed to the brink. Its critical acclaim, particularly its strong showing on Rotten Tomatoes, is well-deserved for its mature storytelling and immersive world-building.
