KILLING LIONEL

Cinemavixion Review

Tim Thorne's "Killing Lionel" presents a darkly comedic crime thriller that delves into the grim realities of a man cornered by his own misdeeds. Released in 2019, the film centers on Lionel, an abusive husband who finds himself entangled in a web of danger after double-crossing a local gangster. As his past catches up, Lionel becomes the target of both hired henchmen and his own long-suffering wife, Peaches, who, with the peculiar assistance of Dr. Henrick Oldcorn, plots his ultimate demise. The narrative skillfully builds tension as Lionel races against time, not only to evade his pursuers but also to orchestrate his own escape. The plot, penned by Philip Alexander Baker and Tim Thorne, promises a gritty and suspenseful ride, exploring themes of retribution and desperation. While specific critical reception and box office performance are not widely documented, the film's premise suggests a compelling exploration of consequences within the crime genre. "Killing Lionel" appears to be a noteworthy independent production that offers a tense and engaging viewing experience.
