GEOGRAPHY CLUB

Cinemavixion Review

Gary Entin's 'Geography Club' offers a poignant glimpse into the lives of high school students navigating the complexities of identity and belonging. The film centers on a group at Goodkind High who, seeking a safe haven, establish an after-school club. This clandestine space becomes a vital outlet for them to share their experiences and feelings, fostering a sense of community amidst the often-isolating pressures of adolescence. The ensemble cast, including notable performances from Nikki Blonsky, Cameron Deane Stewart, and Alex Newell, brings a grounded authenticity to their characters. The narrative thoughtfully explores themes of acceptance, friendship, and the courage it takes to be oneself in a world that doesn't always understand. It's a sensitive portrayal that resonates with the universal search for connection.
