GANGS OF BRITAIN

Cinemavixion Review

Gary and Martin Kemp delve into the gritty underbelly of London's criminal history in 'Gangs Of Britain'. This compelling documentary series traces the evolution of organized crime in the capital, from the notorious Watney Streeters of the East End, whose roots stretch back to the 19th century and persisted into the 1960s, to the more recent emergence of Asian immigrant gangs in Southall, whose initial self-protection spiraled into extortion and drug trafficking. The Kemp brothers bring a unique perspective, investigating the allure and enduring presence of criminal enterprises in Britain's largest city. The series offers a fascinating, albeit often dark, look at the social and historical forces that have shaped London's gang culture across different eras, providing viewers with an insightful exploration of a significant aspect of British urban life.
