FROM REFUGEE TO RESCUER: SALAM ALDEEN'S STORY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary powerfully chronicles the journey of Salam Aldeen, a young Dane whose personal experience as a refugee fuels a profound commitment to aiding others. The film places us at the heart of Europe's refugee crisis, following Salam's courageous volunteer efforts in Greece. His dedication to rescuing refugees in the Aegean Sea is deeply moving, especially given his own past fleeing civil war. The narrative intensifies dramatically when Salam is arrested, facing accusations of human smuggling while desperately searching for a missing family. The film raises critical questions about justice, humanitarianism, and the very essence of democratic values, particularly as Salam's fate hangs in the balance, potentially facing a life sentence. It's a compelling look at one individual's stand against a backdrop of immense humanitarian challenge.
