FRAGMENTARY

Cinemavixion Review

Jace Pickard's "Fragmentary" plunges viewers into a somber exploration of grief and obsession, anchored by a compelling premise. The narrative centers on a man grappling with the brutal murder of his beloved, finding solace only in the belief that alcohol can transport him to an alternate reality where she still lives. Pickard, who also stars in the film, crafts a tense atmosphere, skillfully weaving elements of psychological thriller with a touch of the supernatural. The performance by Pickard, alongside Jacinta Moses and Debbie Neilson, effectively conveys the protagonist's descent into a desperate, perhaps self-destructive, search for connection. While the film garnered some award attention, its intimate scale and dark themes offer a potent, thought-provoking experience for those drawn to character-driven dramas with a speculative edge.
