FORMER CRIMINAL BUILDS A BIRD SANCTUARY TO HEAL A CITY

Cinemavixion Review

In the heart of a city grappling with the pervasive shadows of gun violence, Rodney Stotts' journey is a beacon of profound transformation. This documentary chronicles his remarkable pivot from a past entangled with the drug trade to becoming a licensed Black falconer, a role as unexpected as it is inspiring. Stotts' mission extends beyond the care of birds of prey; it is a deeply personal endeavor to offer a redemptive path to inner-city youth. By rehabilitating an abandoned barn into a vibrant bird sanctuary, he cultivates not just a haven for majestic raptors, but a crucial safe space for young people. The film poignantly explores themes of legacy, the arduous process of redemption, and the extraordinary connection forged between man, animal, and community. It is a testament to the possibility of healing and the discovery of purpose in the most unlikely of circumstances.
