DOROTHY PAGE | THE SINGING COWGIRL

Cinemavixion Review

Dorothy Page shines as the 'Singing Cowgirl' in this 1938 Western directed by Samuel Diege. The plot centers on a classic land dispute, with Tolen seeking control of the Harkins ranch, rumored to hold gold. When Harkins is murdered by Tolen's men, Dorothy and her companion Dick uncover a surprising twist: the gold originates from Tolen's own property. The narrative takes another turn with the arrival of Harkins' brother, who tests Tolen's resolve by proposing an exchange of ranches. Featuring Dorothy Page, Dave O'Brien, and Vince Barnett, the film offers a glimpse into the Western genre of the era, blending elements of intrigue and frontier justice.
