DON'T SHOW MOTHER

Cinemavixion Review

Mathew J. Wilkinson's 2010 independent drama, "Don't Show Mother," delves into the harrowing aftermath of domestic abuse, charting the fragile attempts of Donnie and his agoraphobic mother, Helen, to forge a semblance of normalcy. The film, starring Scott Whitecross and Gwenda Bright, offers a stark portrayal of how past traumas can cast long, inescapable shadows. While critical reception and awards information are scarce for this particular release, the narrative's potent exploration of psychological resilience and the enduring grip of memory provides a compelling, albeit somber, viewing experience. "Don't Show Mother" is a testament to the power of intimate storytelling, inviting audiences to contemplate the profound impact of familial bonds and the difficult journey toward healing.
