DEATH'S DOOR

Cinemavixion Review

Kennedy Goldsby's 2015 feature, "Death's Door," plunges viewers into a chillingly claustrophobic scenario where a seemingly innocent party invitation devolves into a nightmarish trap. The film excels in its atmospheric dread, trapping a group of young adults within a labyrinthine mansion where exits vanish and reality warps. Goldsby, who also penned the script, masterfully builds tension through the unsettling premise, exploring themes of consequence and entrapment. The performances, particularly from leads Obba Babatundé, Evelyn Badillo, and Erika Barrett, ground the supernatural elements in palpable fear. While the plot may leave some wanting more definitive answers, "Death's Door" offers a compelling descent into psychological horror, proving to be a thought-provoking exploration of isolation and inescapable fate within the confines of a single, terrifying night.
