ISIS RISING

Cinemavixion Review

Unveiling a blend of ancient Egyptian mythology and modern-day horror, 'ISIS Rising' plunges viewers into a narrative where academic curiosity unleashes an age-old curse. Director Lisa Palenica crafts a story that begins with the tragic tale of Isis and Osiris, a mythos that tragically intertwines with a group of archaeology students. As these students, engrossed in documenting museum acquisitions, inadvertently awaken the vengeful spirit of Isis, the film transforms into a tense survival thriller. The pacing quickens as the supernatural entity begins to claim victims one by one, forcing the survivors to confront the ancient power they've disturbed. While the film leans into its supernatural horror elements, it's the underlying mythological backdrop that provides a unique, albeit terrifying, foundation for the unfolding events. 'ISIS Rising' offers a chilling exploration of how the past can haunt the present, making for a suspenseful, if somewhat grim, cinematic experience.
