DEADLY STILL

Cinemavixion Review

Anton Zenkovich's 'Deadly Still' plunges viewers into a chilling narrative where a weekend getaway takes a terrifying turn. The film expertly crafts an atmosphere of mounting dread as a group of friends, stranded after an accident, stumble upon an eerie estate housing a cursed antique camera. The premise, revolving around photographs that foretell their gruesome deaths, taps into primal fears of fate and inevitability. The performances, particularly from Anastasiya Ukolova and Sofya Zayka, anchor the escalating horror, grounding the supernatural elements in relatable human reactions. While the plot's reliance on the mystical camera is its central conceit, the film succeeds in building suspense and delivering visceral thrills, offering a compelling, albeit dark, exploration of how destiny can manifest in the most unexpected and horrifying ways. Its 5.1 IMDb rating suggests a mixed but engaging reception for this Russian-American horror-thriller.
