DARK WATER

Cinemavixion Review

Roman Karimov's "Dark Water" plunges viewers into a chilling narrative set against the backdrop of a derelict vessel. The film masterfully weaves a tale of youthful dreams colliding with a dark past, as Maksim, his brother, and his girlfriend attempt to restore an old boat. Their endeavor takes a sinister turn when they uncover the tragic history of the site, a place rumored to be a conduit for lost souls. The plot thickens as the brother's perception shifts, hinting at supernatural forces at play and questioning the very identity of those involved. While the film may not have garnered widespread awards, its atmospheric tension and exploration of grief and the uncanny make it a compelling watch for those drawn to psychological thrillers with a supernatural edge. The performances, particularly from Dmitriy Bogdan, Evgeniy Alyokhin, and Irina Starshenbaum, anchor the unsettling atmosphere, drawing audiences into the characters' mounting dread.
