AMITYVILLE CULT

Cinemavixion Review

Trey Murphy's "Amityville Cult" plunges viewers into a chilling inheritance narrative, where the ancestral home in Amityville becomes a crucible of dark secrets. The film skillfully builds suspense as Stanley DeFeo, portrayed with a compelling mix of apprehension and determination by Chance Gibbs, uncovers a sinister family legacy. Murphy expertly weaves a tale of inherited dread, suggesting that some houses are not merely structures but repositories of unspeakable histories. The supporting cast, including Micha Marie Stevens and Tom Young, contributes to the unsettling atmosphere, making DeFeo's isolation palpable. While the film leans into classic horror tropes, its exploration of generational trauma and the inescapable pull of one's past offers a thought-provoking, albeit grim, cinematic experience. "Amityville Cult" is a descent into a darkness that proves both familial and inescapable.
