CRASH LANDING

Cinemavixion Review

Jim Wynorski's "Crash Landing" (2005) offers a tense, albeit familiar, take on the "Die Hard" formula transposed to the confines of an airplane. Starring Antonio Sabato Jr. as Major John Masters and Michael Paré as Captain Williams, the film plunges viewers into a high-stakes hostage situation aboard a private jet. The plot centers on the daughter of a billionaire, whose presence on the flight makes her the target of a ruthless terrorist group. Masters, a passenger caught in the crossfire, must leverage his military expertise to thwart the hijackers and ensure the plane's safe descent, even as the aircraft sustains critical damage. While the film may not break new ground in the action genre, its straightforward narrative and the committed performances of its leads provide a serviceable dose of suspense. Those looking for a direct, no-frills action thriller will find "Crash Landing" to be a competent, if unexceptional, entry.
