Mark L. Lester's 'Class of 1984' plunges viewers into the volatile atmosphere of a dysfunctional inner-city high school, a potent allegory for societal breakdown. The film masterfully captures the escalating tension between a principled new music teacher, Andrew Norris, and the charismatic, dangerous student delinquent, Peter Stegman, who commands the school with an iron fist.
