CITIZEN DUANE

Cinemavixion Review

In "Citizen Duane," director Michael Mabbott presents a darkly comedic coming-of-age tale set in the peculiar small town of Ridgeway. The film follows Duane Balfour, a teenager whose idealism clashes hilariously and disastrously with his family's chronic ineptitude. What begins as a minor schoolyard dispute escalates into an improbable mayoral campaign, showcasing Duane's Quixotic quest against the backdrop of his community's spectacular failures. Douglas Smith leads the cast, with notable performances from Devon Bostick and Vivica A. Fox, as they navigate this satirical landscape. The film offers a unique, albeit quirky, look at ambition, family dynamics, and the absurdities of local politics.
