CHARGE OVER YOU

Cinemavixion Review

Regardt Steenekamp's "Charge Over You" delves into the tumultuous aftermath of grief, exploring a young woman's search for meaning and faith. Danya Cox delivers a compelling performance as Sarah Goodall, a student whose life unravels following her mother's death. The film masterfully captures Sarah's internal struggle with guilt and failure, amplified by a confusing relationship with a rebellious figure. As her academic future hangs in the balance, the arrival of an American transfer student, portrayed with quiet conviction, offers a glimmer of hope. Steenekamp navigates these complex emotional currents with sensitivity, crafting a narrative that resonates with themes of redemption and the arduous path to self-discovery. While the film may explore darker territories, its ultimate message is one of resilience and the possibility of finding solace even in the most challenging of circumstances.
