THE LAST HIT MAN

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Warre Smets' "The Last Hit Man" plunges viewers into the grim world of contract killing with a surprisingly intimate focus. Joe Mantegna delivers a compelling performance as Harry, an aging assassin whose professional missteps ignite a dangerous chain of events, threatening not only himself but also his daughter, who navigates the same treacherous profession. The film masterfully builds tension as Harry finds an unlikely ally in Billy, a younger hitman tasked with his elimination. Their burgeoning, uneasy alliance forms the emotional core of this crime thriller, exploring themes of legacy, survival, and the unexpected bonds that can form in the face of mortality. While perhaps not reaching the heights of blockbuster action, "The Last Hit Man" offers a taut narrative and solid performances, making it a worthy watch for fans of the genre seeking a character-driven story.
