CARJACKED

Cinemavixion Review

John Bonito's 2011 thriller "Carjacked" plunges viewers into a harrowing ordeal centered on Lorraine Burton (Maria Bello), a single mother struggling to raise her young son, Chad. Their lives take a terrifying turn when a desperate bank robber, Roy (Stephen Dorff), carjacks them, forcing them on a perilous journey toward Tijuana. Bello delivers a compelling performance as a mother pushed to her limits, fighting to protect her child against a volatile antagonist. While the film's plot offers a tense, character-driven narrative, it navigates familiar territory within the crime and thriller genres. The supporting cast, including Connor Hill as Chad, effectively grounds the emotional stakes. Despite its straightforward premise, "Carjacked" provides a suspenseful ride, exploring themes of maternal instinct and survival against overwhelming odds.
