CAMILLA DICKINSON

Cinemavixion Review

Cornelia Duryée's "Camilla Dickinson" offers a poignant exploration of adolescent awakening against the backdrop of familial discord. Adelaide Clemens delivers a nuanced performance as the titular character, a young woman navigating the complexities of her parents' crumbling marriage and her own burgeoning desires. The film excels in its sensitive portrayal of first love, particularly through Camilla's evolving relationship with Frank, compellingly played by Gregg Sulkin. While the narrative touches upon familiar coming-of-age themes, its strength lies in its quiet authenticity and emotional resonance. The supporting cast, including Cary Elwes, adds depth to this introspective drama, making "Camilla Dickinson" a thoughtful examination of self-discovery and the transition into adulthood.
