BUCKSKIN

Cinemavixion Review

Brett Bentman's "Buckskin" transports viewers to the rugged frontier of 1820, presenting a compelling narrative centered on a Texan fur trapper's perilous quest. The film adeptly blends elements of survival and mystery as the protagonist ventures into the enigmatic Buckskin woods, driven by the urgent hope of rescuing a lost young boy. The performances by Tom Zembrod, Robert Keith, and Blaze Freeman anchor the story with a grounded intensity, making the trapper's solitary journey feel both fraught with danger and imbued with a profound sense of purpose. While the film may not boast widespread critical acclaim, its atmospheric setting and the inherent tension of its premise offer a unique window into a seldom-explored corner of American history, making it a worthwhile watch for those drawn to tales of resilience and the untamed wilderness.
