BEYOND DETENTION

Cinemavixion Review

Vega Montanez's latest offering, "Beyond Detention," plunges viewers into a visceral struggle for survival, drawing clear parallels to the timeless themes of "Lord of the Flies." Set on a remote island, the film chronicles the harrowing ordeal of delinquent boys whose wilderness challenge devolves into a desperate fight for life when they are stranded. The narrative intensifies with the discovery of a murdered leader and the looming threat of an escaped convict, transforming their detention into a brutal game of man versus man. Montanez masterfully navigates the descent into primal instincts, exploring the fragility of civilization when pushed to its absolute limits. With a compelling cast led by Luke Ryan, Arthur Wahlberg, and Shane Ryan, the film promises a gripping exploration of human nature under duress, making it a must-watch for those intrigued by psychological thrillers and survival dramas.
