BETWEEN THE AMERICAS - EP02 PANAMA'S ECHO

Cinemavixion Review

In "Between the Americas - EP02 Panama's Echo," journalist Stef Biemans embarks on a compelling exploration of Central America's sonic landscape and its deeper socio-political implications. Having spent over 15 years immersed in the region, Biemans offers a nuanced perspective on the challenges and contradictions faced by its inhabitants. This episode zeroes in on Panama, a nation seemingly characterized by economic prosperity, a burgeoning construction boom, and a striking modern skyline. However, Biemans delves beneath this gleaming surface, visiting the vibrant neighborhoods at the base of these new developments to uncover the realities and changes experienced by ordinary Panamanians. Through a rich tapestry of sounds and personal narratives, the documentary illuminates the delicate and often complex situation of many Central Americans caught between divergent visions for their continent's future.
