BETRAYED BY INNOCENCE

Cinemavixion Review

In the 1986 drama "Betrayed by Innocence," director Elliot Silverstein crafts a tense narrative centered on a married commercial filmmaker whose life unravels after an affair with a young coed named Marisa. Paul Sorvino anchors the film as the protagonist, whose dalliance takes a perilous turn when it's revealed that Marisa is only sixteen, leading to the risk of prison time. The plot, also summarized as a charge of statutory rape, highlights the severe consequences of his actions, particularly with the added complication that Marisa's father is a police officer. While the film received a 6.1 rating on IMDb, it appears to have flown under the radar in terms of major awards or widespread critical acclaim, making it a more niche exploration of moral compromise and the legal ramifications of illicit relationships.
