BEAUTIFUL VILLAGER 66

Cinemavixion Review

Mustafa Şevki Doğan's "Beautiful Villager 66" plunges into the heart of a woman's search for solace and new beginnings. The narrative follows Gul, adrift in a profound depression brought on by the vibrant chaos of Istanbul and a painful separation from her former lover, Kaan. Seeking refuge, she retreats to the tranquil village of Güzelköy in Muğla. There, she finds an unlikely anchor in the eccentric Sultan Ana, who mistakes her for a grandchild. The arrival of Gul's sisters further complicates her self-imposed exile, as they too become entangled in the village's embrace. However, Gul's path to healing is unexpectedly intersected by Kaan's reappearance. Despite his presence, Gul's heart has found a new direction, set on Cemal, a local villager. This film explores the poignant contrast between urban disillusionment and rural rediscovery, charting Gul's journey as she navigates a budding romance amidst the unfamiliar rhythms of village life.
