AS HIGH AS THE SKY

Cinemavixion Review

Nikki Braendlin's 2012 film, "As High as the Sky," offers a poignant exploration of grief, control, and the unexpected paths to healing. Starring Caroline Fogarty as Margaret, the narrative centers on a woman whose life unravels after a broken engagement, leading her to seek solace in meticulous domestic order. This fragile equilibrium is disrupted by the arrival of her sister and niece, forcing Margaret to confront her isolation and the possibility of genuine connection. Fogarty delivers a nuanced performance, capturing Margaret's internal struggle with vulnerability and quiet strength. The film, recognized with three wins, delicately balances moments of awkward humor with profound emotional depth, ultimately suggesting that true peace may lie not in perfect order, but in embracing the beautiful chaos of family. A compelling character study that resonates long after the credits roll.
