APOTHEOSIS

Cinemavixion Review

Matt Hartley's "Apotheosis" presents a chilling descent into suspicion and psychological torment. The film centers on Darwin, a man thrust into the role of prime suspect following the mysterious death of his girlfriend, Christine. What unfolds is a tense narrative where guilt, innocence, and obscured truths blur, leaving the audience to question every revelation. The unique perspective hinted at in the film's synopsis, where the narrative is partly told from the 'shadow's perspective,' adds a layer of unsettling introspection to Darwin's plight. While the film may not boast widespread accolades, its taut storytelling and exploration of dark themes offer a compelling watch for fans of psychological thrillers. With a runtime of 68 minutes, "Apotheosis" is an efficient and gripping examination of a man haunted by the possibility of his own darkness.
