APOCALYPSE A-GO-GO

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Apocalypse A-Go-Go,' director Savannah Gisleson crafts a compelling, albeit intimate, exploration of human connection against the backdrop of impending global doom. Released in 2021, the film centers on five strangers who converge for an 'Apocalypse Party' on the eve of a predicted solar flare that threatens to end the world. As the narrative unfolds, the house becomes a crucible for their fears and desires, transforming into a space where memories are shared and secrets unveiled. The strength of the film lies in its character-driven approach, focusing on the raw vulnerability of individuals confronting their mortality. The performances, particularly from Bridget Anderson and Savannah Gisleson herself, lend authenticity to the emotional weight of the situation. While the film may not boast grand spectacle, it offers a poignant and thought-provoking examination of what it means to be human when faced with the ultimate unknown. 'Apocalypse A-Go-Go' is a testament to the enduring search for meaning and connection, even in the face of oblivion.
