ANY MINUTE NOW

Cinemavixion Review

Peter Goddard's "Any Minute Now" plunges viewers into the disquieting world of Anna Brooks, a sixteen-year-old whose summer with her aunt and uncle becomes a descent into psychological turmoil. The film masterfully blurs the lines between reality and hallucination, as Anna's narcolepsy and medication side effects manifest in increasingly disturbing ways within the seemingly idyllic confines of a small English coastal town. Mhiari Calvey delivers a compelling performance as Anna, capturing the vulnerability and mounting paranoia of a young woman questioning her own sanity. The atmosphere is thick with suspense, inviting audiences to piece together the unsettling events alongside Anna. While the film garnered two nominations, its 4.3 IMDb rating suggests a divisive reception, yet its exploration of mental health and the hidden darkness within suburbia makes it a thought-provoking watch for those drawn to psychological thrillers.
