ANA

Cinemavixion Review

In the vibrant yet economically strained landscape of Puerto Rico, 'Ana' emerges as a poignant narrative of unexpected connection and resilience. The film masterfully pairs the world-weary Rafa, a bankrupt car dealer, with the resourceful young Ana, whose life takes a drastic turn following her mother's arrest. Their chance encounter sparks a journey across the island, a quest driven by Rafa's desperate need to settle debts and Ana's search for her father. Directed by Charles McDougall, the film benefits from the compelling performances of Dafne Keen as the sharp Ana and Andy Garcia as the morally conflicted Rafa. What unfolds is a rich tapestry of human interaction, navigating themes of survival, morality, and the complexities of familial bonds against a backdrop of colorful characters and challenging circumstances. 'Ana' is a testament to finding hope and humanity in the most unlikely of situations.
