AMITYVILLE: NO ESCAPE

Cinemavixion Review

Henrique Couto's "AMITYVILLE: NO ESCAPE" plunges viewers into the heart of primal fear, following a group of college students who venture into the notorious woods of Amityville for a thesis project. What begins as an exploration of fear quickly devolves into a harrowing encounter with a malevolent force. Couto, who also penned the script, crafts a narrative that taps into classic horror tropes while focusing on the psychological unraveling of his characters. The film's strength lies in its commitment to atmosphere, building dread through unsettling visuals and a palpable sense of isolation. While the IMDb rating suggests a niche appeal, the dedication to exploring the darker aspects of the human psyche and the enduring legend of Amityville makes this a compelling watch for fans of atmospheric horror. The ensemble cast delivers performances that effectively convey the escalating terror, drawing the audience into their desperate search for an escape from an evil that refuses to die.
