AMERICA: THE NEW CONQUEST OF THE WEST | INSIDE THE ANTI-WOKE MIGRATION

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the heart of a significant demographic and ideological shift occurring in the American Northwest. Titled "America: The New Conquest of the West | Inside the Anti-Woke Migration," the film, directed by Tâm Melacca & Gary Grabli, offers a compelling look at a growing movement of Americans seeking refuge from urban centers and perceived societal changes. The narrative follows a family's journey from San Francisco, illustrating their pursuit of freedom, open spaces, and a less regulated lifestyle. The film highlights the motivations of these migrants, predominantly white, Christian, and often evangelical, who are reacting against abortion, gun control, and social movements such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights. By focusing on their desire to live by their own values, the documentary captures the essence of this migration. However, it also acknowledges the rising tensions and differing perspectives within the region, presenting a nuanced view of this 'new America' being built. The film serves as a timely exploration of cultural divides and the evolving landscape of American identity.
