ABOUT HOPE

Cinemavixion Review

David D. Dietrich's 2020 romantic comedy, "About Hope," offers a gentle exploration of the search for love and self-discovery. Starring Justin Ray as Thomas McKenzie, a man on a perpetual quest for his ideal partner, the film introduces him to Hope Sanchez (Christine Juarbe), a single mother striving to build her own business. As their paths intertwine, Thomas and Hope embark on a journey that challenges their preconceived notions of what true love entails. The narrative thoughtfully suggests that the love we seek might not be the love that ultimately fulfills us, a theme bolstered by the sincere performances of the lead cast, including Claire Bermingham. While the film may not boast extensive awards or widespread critical acclaim, its intimate focus on personal growth and the nuances of relationships makes it a quiet, character-driven piece worth discovering for those who appreciate heartfelt romantic comedies.
