A GIRL UPSTAIRS

Cinemavixion Review

Kevin Van Stevenson's "A Girl Upstairs" presents a compelling, albeit unconventional, narrative centered on a successful yet reclusive artist grappling with agoraphobia. The film takes a fascinating turn when one of her own creations materializes, offering a temporary balm to her self-imposed isolation. This initial joy, however, soon gives way to unease as the nature of her artistic companions is revealed, blurring the lines between her inner world and the demands of her creations for freedom. Starring Holly Blair, Gustavo Cintra, and Sara Catherine Bellamy, the film delves into themes of fear, isolation, and the complex relationship between creator and creation. While the external data suggests a plot involving a neighbourly dispute and disappearance, the core elements of the artist's struggle and the surreal intrusion into her life align with the local description, suggesting a shared artistic vision.
