48 HOURS AND 1 MINUTE

Cinemavixion Review

Sonia Alexa and Michael Thyer's "48 HOURS AND 1 MINUTE" plunges viewers into the desperate heart of Belgrade, presenting a taut thriller anchored by a compelling premise. The narrative expertly leverages the titular 48-hour law, a ticking clock that amplifies the stakes as a mother (Sonia Alexa, who also penned the script) embarks on a perilous solo mission to find her abducted child. The film bravely explores the protagonist's internal struggle, juxtaposing her fierce determination with the disorienting effects of her psychiatric medication. Alexa's performance is central, conveying a raw vulnerability that makes her quest deeply resonant. Supported by Bogdan Bogdanovic and Radivoje Bukvic, the film crafts a gritty, atmospheric journey through the city's underbelly. This is a character-driven piece that excels in its emotional intensity and the urgency of its central conflict, offering a gripping cinematic experience.
