1 & A HALF HOURS

Cinemavixion Review

Jose Antonio Perez's '1 & A Half Hours' offers a taut, single-take thriller centered on Ana, a woman navigating a recent divorce and a clandestine new relationship. The film plunges into suspense when Ana receives a distressing call about her daughter, only to discover at school that she has vanished. A subsequent call from a kidnapper sets in motion a harrowing ordeal, demanding Ana's compliance under threat of her daughter's safety. As Ana becomes increasingly isolated, the narrative builds towards a tense confrontation with her daughter's captor. Jennifer Landa, Jorge Verdú, and Martín Elorrieta anchor this suspenseful drama, which explores themes of maternal desperation and isolation within its unique, unbroken shot format.
