ZOMBIE HAMLET

Cinemavixion Review

In a meta-cinematic twist, "Zombie Hamlet" (2012) offers a peculiar blend of Shakespearean tragedy and undead horror. When a film production's financing collapses, the desperate producers pivot, transforming their ambitious Hamlet adaptation into a zombie flick to salvage the project. Directed by John Murlowski, the film stars John Amos, June Lockhart, and Jason Mewes, alongside Travis Wester. While the external data suggests a plot involving a filmmaker's dream project derailed by voodoo and a meddling matron, the core concept of a Hamlet film morphing into a zombie movie remains consistent. This low-budget endeavor, as indicated by its modest IMDb rating of 4.6, appears to lean into its unconventional premise, promising a unique, if perhaps campy, cinematic experience for those intrigued by the intersection of classic literature and genre horror.
